Today, I am exposing one of the biggest and most well-known hosting companies in India. You have probably heard of "GBNodes." They claim to be India's largest game hosting provider, and yes, technically, they are the biggest hosting company from "India." But guess what? They are also exactly what you would expect: cheapskates who want to run a hosting business without spending a single rupee. Their entire operation is based on cutting costs, bending rules, and making false claims about their "partnerships." Let me show you how they really work behind the scenes. ### The Truth Behind the AWS "Partnership" GBNodes often boasts about being "partnered" with AWS. You will find this claim plastered all over their website, their Discord server, and other promotional materials. But here is the reality: they are not partnered with AWS. AWS would never partner with a low-tier, cost-cutting company like them that simply resells AWS servers. Think about it logically, why would AWS, a global cloud platform that provides its own infrastructure, partner with a small Indian hosting provider and offer them discounted servers? The truth is that GBNodes has been misuing AWS Startup Credits for 2+ years. For those who do not know, major cloud providers like AWS, OVH, Google Cloud, and Cloudflare offer Startup Credits to help new businesses and startups grow. These credits are meant for startups building products like a food delivery app or an AI-based service that need cloud infrastructure. They are not meant to be resold directly or indirectly. But GBNodes misused these credits to sell servers, which is strictly against AWS policies. However, AWS Startup Credits are limited and expire after 2 years. A legitimate company would have invested in their own data center and infrastructure by this point. But GBNodes? They did not. They continued relying on free credits to avoid paying for servers. The only hardware they actually own are some Ryzen servers because AWS does not offer Ryzen CPUs, and their competitors (GBNodes') were providing Ryzen servers. But even that was not enough. Once their credits were running out, they tried to reapply for AWS Startup Credits a second time using a new company as a disguise. ### A New Company for More Free Credits Originally, GBNodes operated under Webpool Technologies PVT. LTD. (CIN: U72900UP2022OPC174867) ([proof: see the footer of their old website](https://web.archive.org/web/20240602182106/https://gbnodes.host/)). However, after two years, conveniently when their AWS credits were expiring, they dissolved Webpool Technologies and registered a new company: Evotrade Assets PVT. LTD. (CIN: U62099UP2024PTC210618). You can verify the company details from: https://mca.gov.in. If you check the website of Evotrade (https://evotrade.site), you will notice something suspicious, it is an exact replica of the GBNodes website. Why? Because it was created solely to reapply for AWS Startup Credits under a different name. You can also check the footer of the current GBNodes website (https://gbnodes.host), which now mentions Evotrade instead of Webpool. There was no valid reason to create this new company, except to continue their reliance on free credits. This just proves how dependent they are on AWS credits. Why? Because AWS is the only cloud provider that offers 100% uptime and reliability, and GBNodes knows that their business would collapse without it. AWS servers are expensive, running multiple 128GB RAM servers costs a fortune. Yet, GBNodes was selling them at dirt-cheap prices because their cost was zero. How do I know for sure they are using a new AWS account with fresh credits? It is obvious: - They changed their parent company name. - They moved all their AWS-based servers at once according to their updates channel (this was done to get as less bill as possible). ### The Reality of Their Operations GBNodes is a mess from the inside out: - They do notpay their team members. Like seriously, you are this big and do not even pay your staff? Such a shame. - Their support is terrible. If you are not a high-spending customer, you are ignored. - Their refund policy is a joke. Even after making 100% profit on AWS-backed Standard Nodes, they never invested in better support or a fair refund system. And looks like their old refund policy was just a mess and had multiple contradictions in it. - Rachit Kumar Patel (the owner of GBNodes) is behind it all. He manipulates people, exploits loopholes, and only cares about his own gain. ### The Aftermath: Why GBNodes is Facing Major Downtime If you have a server with GBNodes or follow their Discord, you might have noticed the recent massive downtime. That is because their entire AWS infrastructure has been shut down. One of my friends who had access to insider information reported their fraudulent activities to AWS. His father works at AWS, which made it easy for him to escalate the issue. He had been tracking GBNodes' misuse of AWS for months and waited for the right moment to take action. When he saw that GBNodes had created another company just to reapply for AWS Startup Credits, he decided enough was enough. As a result, AWS terminated their services, leading to the widespread downtime. Unfortunately, even my own data was lost because my friend did not warn me beforehand. That part sucks, but at least justice was served. ### The Lesson: Never Trust an Indian Hosting Company If there is one thing you should take away from this incident, it is this: never trust an Indian hosting company. That will be the biggest mistake of your life. Almost every hosting company from India, even the registered ones operates like a scam. They are not here to provide a good service, they are only in it for easy money. They bend the rules, take shortcuts, and disappear when things go wrong. Instead, I highly recommend choosing well-established international hosting providers. Some great alternatives are: Sparked.host, BisectHosting, Any provider with 5+ years of experience in the industry. But whatever you do, stay far away from GBNodes, Rachit Kumar Patel, and his brother Rajat Kumar Patel (who is also a director of Evotrade Assets PVT. LTD.). This is the truth behind GBNodes. Thanks for Being specific about the things I will make some key Points I am one of the Old Close Friend of RKP [Rachit Kumar Patel] So at the Beinging when GBNoodes was not a registered company they used abuse Hetzner and Card Contabo from Mayank Sharam [Another Carded Hosting From India] After few Month they GB Got incorporated as Webpool Technologies Private Limited now registering a company doest mean you get AWS Activate Credits just like that you need good little Project for that So they started Developing GBPanel 1.0 and invest arround 600 USD It was ready in next 2 Months and on behalf of that they applid of Nvidia Inception and they got approved for 100k AWS Credits Since then they went public and Claim they are one and only official Partner of AWS in India Also their Suppot was sekptical about it Now lets Find what wrong and Correct: GB Was selling VPS [AWS EC2] which totally againts AWS ToS and shall not be performed where as AWS do support using their Infra as PaaS [Platform as a Service] and Container Servers on Ptero as PaaS to many tried to report them but they failed with the PaaS thing and Report got rejected but finnaly someone could do that Yes!! The Payu Payment Page used to say Paying to Rachit Kumar Patel which seems to a Sole Propieter account not Pvt Ltd They Never exposed their GSTIN neither they Collected in nor they provided a GST Bill This can clearly proof that this Companies are dummy and not used for just getting credits not acutall being operated Is it with the all Companies in India? \- Hell Nah!!! Some Companies do operate Legitly as they have completly Exposed GSTIN CIN and Investing in own Infra [I will not take name as its not a for promotion] \- Yes I can agree on 100% that 80% of companies in India are not getting legitly bought nodes but some new host cant get clients if they charge high So yeah Abusing was the only option as India People dont care about data protection unless their own data gets Deleted So how Some of the Legit Hosting Protect their data? Will I can't say about other but my Hosting Company a Pvt Ltd has to take a PCI DDS license which a Gov't Provided license that ensure's how User Data is handled by the company and it has weekly Audits and Quaterly inspections by the Ofiicials **But How can A user know ?** Well!! One of the only trusted vps provider i recommend is xitenodes, they provide cheap servers and I am 100% sure they don't scam people as I have worked with them in the past, they have very smooth operations expect their owner is a dickhead (Mr.Shadow), well I would suggest anyone to verify any provider before making purchases
