Bruh, its never been a secret though? I thought it was pretty well known that DDG and others use Bing. The main benefit to using DDG instead of Bing is that, for me at least it has a generally cleaner UI, and also the fact that my searches are not directly being correlated to my Microsoft account, since DDG essentially acts like a proxy/VPN/middleman to Bing thus anonymizing you partially, at least to Microsoft that is.
But, even when using any search engine, including DDG I still use uBlockOrigin since the ads/trackers annoy me and detract from what I am looking for. If you truly care about trackers and such, setup a pi-hole or if you are lazy like me, and care less about tracking and more about stuff that you see and the speed of webpages loading, just do the basics of the basics and use uBlockOrigin to remove clutter from webpages.
